If you haven’t noticed a pattern, I happen to love animated comedies. Bob’s Burgers definitely falls into that category. My friends introduced it to me while in grad school and I’ve continued watching since.
There are too many good episodes to pick any favorites and too many hilarious moments to play favorite. My favorite character, though, has to be Tina in all her awkward and horny adolescent glory. Her obsessions with Jimmy Pesto Jr., butts, and erotic friend fiction are just too much. This supercut of Tina’s whiny uhhhhhhhhhhhhs always makes me LOL.
This past Halloween, I dressed as Louise for my friends’ party…and promptly ran into another Louise. After many Louise-like reactions (“I’ll see you in hell!”), we took this photo, which someone actually sent to Kristen Schaal. Her reaction: Flattered.
Despite the fact that there are rarely any burgers, Bob’s Burgers also has a dedicated culinary following, which has launched some food blogs (including this one). Bob’s Burgers of the Day chronicles the Burger of the Day from each episode, while The Bob’s Burgers Experiment aims to recreate all the burgers from the show. It’s an idea I wish I had!
Alas, I live in a city that has In-N-Out Burger and Umami Burger, two of my favorite burger places, so I rarely grill ’em up at home. I also hate grilling. A nice alternative to that is this Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap recipe I found at Emily Bites, a great food blog filled with lightened recipes. It’s really tasty and light, but has all the cheeseburgery flavor you love. Plus bacon. Pair it up with some oven fries and you’ve got a really yummy dinner.
Since I made no alterations to the recipe, you can go ahead and find it here at Emily Bites. Go ahead, leave the nest. I’ll be right here waiting for you. With Richard Marx.
