Komodo is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Los Angeles, so when I heard the Venice location was hosting one of the Chuck Taylor’s Fried Chicken All-Stars Pop-Up events by Chef Samuel Monsour, I knew I had to go. I went on the second night (it was so popular that they extended the event to TWO nights in April!) and they served two fried chicken options: Monsour’s buttermilk version and Komodo Chef Erwin Tjahyadi’s spicy fried chicken.
I chose Chef Erwin’s fried chicken and oh boy, did it have a kick! Very delicious though. Also included in the meal was bottomless mac and cheese, miso-bacon corn, and a delicious ice cream sandwich for dessert. As for the sneakers, a bunch of awesome fried chicken-themed kicks were for sale.
