Sometimes you feel like cake and you’re lucky that you happen to have all the ingredients to make pound cake. So this is the recipe I followed for a colorful treat.

  1. 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
  2. 2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled), plus more for pan
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 4 large eggs
  5. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
I added for fun
  1. 2 tablespoons sprinkles!
  2. 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  3. Chocolate syrup to drizzle on top
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a loaf pan; set aside.
  2. Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition; add vanilla and salt. Gradually add flour, beating just until combined (do not overmix).
  3. Add Sprinkles and Peanut Butter Chips.
  4. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean, about 1 hour. Let cool in pan 15 minutes. Invert onto a wire rack, and turn upright to cool completely.
  5. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top.
