Back in 2014, when my passion for food and this food blog was just forming, I began volunteering with Food Forward and volunteered to help out at Food Forward’s annual Spring Melt fundraiser. Fast-forward to 2016 and I got to help out and attend the 2016 Food Forward Spring Melt, my third one, but first one hosted at LA River Studios. The spot was intimate and offered some varying experiences to help raise money to benefit a great cause: Helping to feed Southern California’s hungry!
Salt & Straw served up some delicious ice cream cones, Clementine grilled cheese sandwiches (for their famous Grilled Cheese Mouth for April!), yummy savory porridge and puffs from Porridge & Puffs, meatballs from Knead & Co., blow torch s’mores from The Gourmandise School, and of course there was my favorite part: The crafts! Food Forward always comes up with the best food crafts and they’re something I look forward to every year.
