Fourth Of July Bagels At Fred’s Bakery in Pico-Robertson — PHOTOS & VIDEOS

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! This is truly one of my favorite holidays, because food, fun, and fireworks — duh. What could make it even better? Fourth of July bagels from Fred’s Bakery and Deli in Pico-Robertson, perhaps. This is a bakery I pass by all the time and one day, I saw a sign saying that they’re selling rainbow bagels now. How cool! I stopped in to try one, but the owner Avi let me know that they would be making red, white, and blue bagels for July 4th. Naturally, I would want to take photos of these!

I’m from New York City originally and I love bagels, but it’s hard to find good ones outside of NYC.  Fred’s bagels are the real deal. Trivia: The bakery has been around since 1949 and they make the rye bread used by Langer’s Deli.

Despite all the colors, the Fourth of July bagel is a really solid, savory bagel and the blueberry cream cheese that it does with isn’t overly sweet, but it’s a pretty awesome blue.
