For three years, I lived in the South and loved loved barbecue. Ribs, brisket, and especially pulled pork — me and my stomach got very well acquainted with the slow-cooked, smoky meat of the region. So when I got invited to try out Max City BBQ in Eagle Rock, I was excited! I hadn’t had barbecue in a long time and Southern cuisine will always have a place in my heart.
When I got to Max City BBQ, the place was packed. It was great to see Angelenos who embraced barbecue and not just juice cleanses. 😉 I ordered the WeaKnees plate with St. Louis ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and Tri Tip, along with their deliciously cheesy mac and cheese, cornbread, and coleslaw. So many thanks to Max City BBQ for a terrific lunch.
