Q&A With Maria Meizoso, Uncorked & Uncapped Benefiting The Arc of Essex County In New Jersey

Alas, September is here, and so is fall in the United States (unofficially). Summer food events are now winding down, but there are also plenty of fun food events for autumn, too! The event will feature craft beer, wine, spirits, and food — what more could you want?

Even coordinator Maria Meizoso was kind enough to answer a few questions about the event for us!  (Full disclosure: I worked with Maria while she worked at The Daily Meal.)

What are you most excited about for the 2017 event?

I am most excited for a bigger and better Uncorked! Each year we have continued to draw in a larger crowd, and fabulous vendors raising much-needed funds for The Arc of Essex County. We have several new food vendors this year as well as fan favorites that have been with us since our first Uncorked in 2013. This is also our first year featuring a cider. Jersey Cider Works is bringing their Original Ironbound Hard Cider and their Devil’s Harvest Hard Cider. This is my first year as the events coordinator so I’m genuinely excited to see my hard work turned into a fun night for everyone! I’m looking forward to all the delicious food and drinks to try as well as the silent auction which features some great packages.

Which spirits and/or food are you most looking forward to at this year’s event?

I’m a huge wine person, and we have such an extensive and eclectic assortment of wines this year from Australian to Portuguese. As for the food, I don’t think I can choose just one! There are so many different cuisines being sampled, and I’m not picky when it comes to good food J.  I do have a bit of a sweet tooth so I’m definitely looking forward to some of our dessert options including made on site mini donuts from Glazed and Confused.
